March 6th Highlights!

Temple Judea was abuzz this morning with lots of activities!
Purim preparations were afoot in many classes. Our kindergarteners put on their own Purim shpiel and created Purim masks. The first grade made paper hamentashen and had a mishloach manot exchange. Our second grade classes joined together to bake yummy hamentashen under Mrs. Rodriguez's watchful eye.
The third grade used all kinds of methods to review Hebrew letters, including play-dough! Their Israel journeys took them to Modi'in, home of Judah Maccabee (who is related to another Jewish holiday. Fourth graders reviewed the Purim story in Hebrew and had a chance to act out the Joseph story in Judaic Studies. Fifth grade looked at different kinds of mitzvot and how to observe them in our daily lives. They also reviewed the prayers from the whole semester and learned a fun Purim song "I love hamentashen." Find a fifth grader and ask him or her to sing it to you! The 6th graders started a new project on the four quarters in Jerusalem and reviewed Ashrei - a very challenging prayer. 4th-6th grade finished with a great art project with Mrs. Kutell.
Make sure to plan on being at Temple Judea on March 23rd for our Purim extraveganza! 4th-7th grade should arrive at 4:30pm. All others are invited to join us in the sanctuary at 5:30pm for OYKLAHOMA! Our next Sunday class is March 27th.
