March 21 - Welcome back from Spring Break!
In the 4th grade we started getting ready for Passover by telling the passover story and taking notes with key Herbrew words. We sang, translated and reviewed the 4 questions as well as singing songs from the haggaddah. In Judaic Studies we
learned about how Rebeccah was chosen as a wife for Isaac. learned about how Rebeccah was chosen as a wife for Isaac.
Today the fifth grade had a chance to check in with each other as a way of building our community. The students selected the area of Hebrew for concentration: either continuing to study the Amidah prayer, or reviewing the four questions. Morah Rachel helped lead a group and it was wonderful having her in class. In Judaic Studies we completed our study of Emunah by creating Shema posters (in English and Hebrew). We also decorated them with illustrations of our favorite stories from the Tanach. Students also learned about Israeli money in a quick (and fun) show and tell from Sarah's brief time in Israel over Spring Break.
Today in 6th grade we reviewed all the information we have learned about Israel and we used board races to make it fun! In Hebrew we practiced the Four questions and the Ashrei. We read and chanted both blessings.
The 7th grade had a chance to share their thoughts about their role in the Purim celebrations. They used the Simpsons as a way to talk about the commandment of honoring your parents.
