Hebrew: On Wednesday we learned Ayin, Bet, Aleph. Our new words were Abba (dad), am (people). We played a Hebrew reading game with our new letters and words. We sang Rosh Hashanna songs and reviewed the highlights, customs & terms in Hebrew.
Judaic studies: The class read and recited the prayer that is recited before the study of Torah. Many students wrote their own meaningful prayers and we briefly spoke about the five books of Torah.

Hebrew: Student discussed why Hebrew is important to them. They reviewed vowels and the Barechu. Sunday we will have an assessment, so please study the vowel pamphlet given out! I look forward to seeing parents come to open house and sharing the goals for this year. Your support is essential to your child’s success.
Judaic studies: Today in class we discussed how to look up specific sentences in the torah. As a fun,
educational activity and we had a Torah scavenger hunt. Each group was required to find certain words and once
that was completed to unscramble them to form actual sentences that appear in the Torah

Today we made another word splash, this time about WW2. This leads us to learning about the Holocaust and then the creation of the State of Israel. We also practiced the reading of the Birkot HaTorah. The students
practice in different ways: individual lines, skip a word, or reading the full prayer. We are writing a thank you letter to God. We discussed the things we are thankful for and after making their personal list the work begin.

Shalom! Today we got off to a great start. In the first hour of class, we broke up into different groups. Every week we will be splitting into the same groups and learning in a smaller closer setting. The teachers & curriculum change every 3-6 weeks. In the 2nd hour the class came up with rules for the year. It was a very productive day!
