Officer Jackson visits Judea High!
Last night the students in Judea High (8th through 12th Grades) had a special program Officer Frank Jackson of the Coral Gables Police Department. Officer Jackson gave the students lots of great info about distracted driving - statistical data and powerful stories. The discussion was about all kinds of different things we should NOT be doing while driving: texting, putting on makeup, changing a CD, joking around with other passengers, etc. Officer Jackson stressed how important it is to show responsibility when driving and also when going out to social events where drinking and drugs can be readily available. He explained that even the best students in the most affluent of neighborhoods are not immune to the dangers of negative social behavior, and that being cautious and aware - even while having fun - is a priority. Ask your kids to tell you about this informative and vital discussion!
